UPDATE 5/30/2007--"Devil" is an excellent momma and takes great care of her 4/2007 foal, Gotothedevil. She is officially pregnant to the stud Latin American for the 2008 foaling season.

Grade III winner Jacodra's Devil sports the best credentials of any horse in our barn. The winner of nearly $350K in the 1990's, "Devil" joined our team in 2006. She is the daughter of Devil's Bag and Kazandancoa and specialized in running on the grass.

The "Devil" has been a disappointment to her previous owners as a broodmare. Her first owners spent nearly $1 million dollars breeding her to the best classic Kentucky stallions available. Her seven offspring have done poorly at the racetrack, with one mediocre exception.

For this mare, the challenge at Tumbledown Farm will be to think outside-the-box and choose future non-mainstream stallions whose pedigree differs from the failures of the past. Hopefully, in this great genetic strategy game we'll get lucky and find a combination that works, giving us a baby that runs as good as mommy did.
