UPDATE 5/20/2007 -- Vicky's first baby, Twist My Kazoo, is born!

Easily distinguished by what appears to be a "smeared" star on her forehead, Simply Victorious was retired from racing in 2006. As a racehorse, "Vicky" was a contradiction. In the backstretch barn she appeared thin and very shy, often cowering in the back of her stall. She seemed to behave more like a frightened little deer than a horse. But on the racetrack her Thoroughbred blood flowed as well as any racehorse as she posted 10 wins and was "in the money" (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in 27 of her 38 career starts. Vicky was a speedy sprinter and preferred distances of 5-6 furlongs, often zipping out to the lead early then hanging on for dear-life at the finish. In the end, her final numbers were 38-10-10-7 with $100K in earnings.

"Vicky" is the daughter of sire Flying Victor and out of the dam Simply Savage. She's still a little on the shy side but seems to like her new role as "mama" much better than she did at the track.
