Sun Valley Anna, 7yo Mare -- Retired From Racing/Broodmare UPDATE 3/5/2008 -- Anna had a beautiful filly in early January! The new foal has been tentatively named "Sunny Catalina". Anna has been bred back to Bertrando and should be arriving back at home base very soon.
Stakes-Placed Sun Valley Anna by the sire Delineator and out of the Ferdinand' mare Itsagenderthing, was claimed and immediately retired from racing in mid-2006 due to a bad fetlock joint. "Anna" was a solid racehorse and finished with a record of 38-8-8-8 and $106K in earnings. She had a ton of tenacious speed over a route of ground, and liked to win her races in wire-to-wire fashion.
As 2007 began, Anna was shipped to Kentucky to prepare for her new job as a broodmare. She cooperated in the breeding shed and became pregnant on the first cover to sire Devil His Due. Anna is due to deliver her first foal in January 2008.
